As chair of the Foundation I would like to personally
thank the executive for all of the hard work and effort
each and everyone one of you devotes to the Foundation.
I work together with the manager
at the hospital ensuring that the list of equipment
needed is on a wish list and organize meetings with the
executive each month or more if required. We except
donations & raise funds to purchase those items as
dollars become available.
Don Marsh, vice
president, is responsible for
the wall plaques at the hospital, listing the names of
major donors.
Don also helps out with the
Festival of Trees.
Donna Ritco is the secretary and co-committee host of
the Festival of Trees. She writes many letters for the
Foundation and ensures good communication at all times.
Gerry Pohl is our treasurer and is more than willing to
take your donations on behalf of the Foundation.
Sally Carlson is currently co coordinator of the
Festival of Trees. Sally and
Donna have done a fabulous job of hosting this event.
Marilyn Goll looks after the
website. Visit the website for updates throughout the
year. Also if you would like to link your business or
organization to our website call Marilyn.
Dr. Colin Honish is our medical
liaison with the medical professionals and ensures they
attend our functions.
Dr. Honish is leaving to work in
Saskatoon
and will be replaced by another doctor.
The Foundation is the organization
for you to donate your money for purchases of much
needed equipment for the Meadow
Lake
Hospital.
The Health Care Auxiliary made a substantial donation a
couple of years ago to kick start our first real
fundraising campaign. This was an inspiration to the
board members and me. It was a sign that we were on the
right track.
Michele Wilde had an idea. And
what an idea it was - to host a radio a thon in
celebration of 25 years in Meadow
Lake.
The Foundation was the
beneficiary of this idea and it raised $60,000 on that
one day! On behalf of the Foundation we thank you and
the staff and management of CJNS/CJNB and the Rawlco family. It was indeed a
successful event.
Also thank you to other major contributors:
-
Doris Young and family
$10,000 for the blood bank fridge.
-
Makwa Lions Club $7000.
for the
camera and printer for the endoscope.
-
Two anonymous
donors who each gave $5000. each.
-
To everyone else
who donated to the Radio a thon.
We thank everyone for all donations.
Thank you to Ray Miller who has
organized the Happy Carlson Golf Tournament the last
couple years. Hap Carlson passed way this past summer.
He was born, raised, worked and lived in
Meadow
Lake.
All who knew him will remember him. Ray is stepping down
from organizing the golf tournament and Grant Hanson has
gratuitously accepted to step up to the tee box and
replaces Ray. We thank you both – also thank you to the
Carlson family.
The last three years John
Marsollier along with ESSO Petroleum has donated almost
$40,000.
to
the Foundation. We thank you.
To the Meadow Lake Lions Club and
the Dorintosh Lions Club thank you for the generous
donations over the last couple years.
To everyone who has donated in anyway over the years be
it the Festival of Trees, Happy Carlson Golf Tournament,
Radio a Thon, in memory of a loved one, or donation from
the goodness of your heart – thank you.
Thank you to everyone.
It is your Foundation. It
is your Hospital.
Thank
you.
